Trail Overview

This is one of the more difficult dirt bike trails in the Interface Trail System. The entrance from the north end is rutted, with overgrown grass, a few rocks, and embedded root bands across the trail creating small drop-offs. It starts descending down a rutted slope, with lots of loose rock filling in the ruts. It has some tight corners as it winds around the hillside, then comes up to a big embedded slab feature that is a steep stair step that drops off a couple of feet into a rutted path. The trail continues over some jagged embedded rock layers and loose rock in a dry and grassy clearing. It continues to wind tightly through the trees, with some off-camber turns, and a few more steep spots, and several small logs down. It keeps really tightly winding through the scrub oak until it ends at a forest road on the east end.

Access Description

The Interface OHV Trail System is located in the Stanislaus National Forest near the town of Arnold, California. To get here, go north of Highway 4 towards the community of White Pines and White Pines Lake. Go past the White Pines day use area, and continue onto FS 7N08, which will take you directly to the staging area. This recreation area has ample parking, porta potties, and several primitive camp spots with picnic tables. There are more camp spots and staging areas along FS 5N52. The trails here are open from April 15 - December 15, but it gets very dry and dusty here in the summer, so spring and fall are the best times to visit.
