Trail Overview
Dave’s Hill 354 is a short, extreme-rated hill climb designed specifically for buggies and rock bouncers looking for a serious vertical challenge in the southeastern corner of Rush Springs Off-Road Park. This non-directional trail spans approximately 800 feet, climbing over 130 feet. Drivers can tackle this steep ascent from either direction, but regardless of which way is chosen, the base of the hill presents loose rock that makes regaining traction difficult if momentum is lost. From the bottom looking up, the trail splits into two distinct lines: the right side offers a slightly more forgiving route, while the left line presents the ultimate challenge with vertical rock ledges up to three feet tall.
The easier right-side line is still incredibly steep and demands careful tire placement, as it features smaller protruding rock ledges and deep ruts that will keep your rig off-camber throughout the entire climb. The harder left-side line requires a highly built rig with large tires, high clearance, and lockers to conquer the massive, steep ledge climbs where vehicle rollover is a very real possibility if hit with too much speed or an improper line. Reaching the top of the climb rewards drivers with direct access to a wider network of connecting trails in the park's eastern section, making it an excellent segment to test a vehicle's limits before moving on to other obstacles. Because of the loose rock, extreme angles, and aggressive ledge climbs, this trail is recommended only for experienced drivers.
Difficulty
The base of this trail on both sides is loose rock, if you have to stop this may make traction difficult to gain again. The harder line has rock ledges to climb that are up to 3 foot tall on an already steep hill climb. The other line is also a steep hill climb with smaller rock ledges that are sticking out of the ground. This line is also rutted out and will have your vehicle off camber the whole way until you reach the top. Due to how steep this trail is and the height of the rock ledges, vehicle roll over is a possibility if you hit it to hard or do not have your tires properly placed.
Access Description
Rush Springs Off-Road Park is a privately owned park that requires daily admission fees for vehicles and passengers. Visitors should check the park's official schedule and rules prior to arrival, as safety equipment such as flags or helmets may be required for certain vehicle types.
