Trail Overview
Trail Ss1037 begins at a convenient parking and air-down area just off Highway 70. Multiple dispersed campsites line the initial dirt and gravel access road, making this a great staging point for the surrounding trail network. The route starts out flat and wide before gradually narrowing as you head deeper into the desert. Early on, the trail crosses a creek bed that may become impassable during or after wet weather -- check conditions before committing. The road features a maintained gravel berm and is clearly defined; please stay on the established trail. Overall, this is an easy, non-technical drive with gentle rolling hills and smooth gravel surfaces throughout. Along the way, you'll encounter an impressive natural example of water erosion carving a new path through the landscape -- a highlight worth slowing down for.
