Trail Overview

Heading east from Highway 78 through a gravel wash, this route flows between walls of desert brush, abundant trees, and seasonal blooming flowers, creating a lush corridor. Overgrown trees encroach where your vehicle may get rubbed without careful maneuvering, so precision matters. Chocolate Mountains dominate views both east and west, boxing you in with dramatic scenery. The trail maintains a fairly smooth flow overall, making this a good flowing wash that rewards momentum. Watch for wash drop-offs between washes reaching up to 18 inches that demand caution and a careful approach. The journey concludes at Ogilby Road after winding through this vegetated wash system.

Difficulty

Wash drop-offs up to 18 inches are the teeth in this otherwise flowing route, requiring careful spotting and good clearance to navigate safely. The overgrown trees create pinstriping hazards and demand precise maneuvering to avoid contact. The fairly smooth nature between obstacles helps maintain rhythm, but you can't zone out with those drop-offs lurking. High clearance and four wheel drive handle the wash terrain and drop-offs. Good flowing character makes it fun despite the challenges.
