Trail Overview

The Cross Road Trail is a dirt trail spanning from Little Salmon River Road to Goose Creek Road. However, it is important to note that near the Goose Creek Road (the east side of the trail at Quiddy Falls), the bridge crossing is for ATV use only. The west side of Little Salmon River Road provides various access points for the Fundy Footpath between Martin Head and Little Salmon River. The trail is mostly single-vehicle wide with a few passing opportunities. The trail is unmaintained with some loose rock sections, and cell service is scarce. At the ATV bridge, there appears to be a side trail to the river (which is about 12-18 inches deep); however, it does not appear to be a designated or permitted river crossing (the trail is accessible from both ends, Goose Creek Road and Little Salmon, up to the bridge).

Difficulty

The trail is rated as a 2 as it is typically not maintained and is mostly single-vehicle wide with some passing areas. Note that the river crossing does not appear to meet New Brunswick's laws for river crossing. The water appeared to be up to 18 inches, with rock obstacles up to 22 inches leading in and out of the river.
