Overview

Known For

Indiana is known for its big whitetail deer and wild turkey hunting. Statewide, deer hunting is excellent. Indiana also has thousands of acres of national and state forests that create ample hunting opportunities.

Terrain

Indiana is a mix of plains, lowlands, and rolling hills. Its steep hills are called knobs. As part of the Great Lakes Plains, the state also features sand dunes along its northern edge, while a mix of agricultural lands and hardwood forests make up the rest of the state.
