Description
A popular route for hikers and trail runners that is close to Calgary, this is a steep climb to the peak of Prairie Mountain. You'll climb through primarily lodgepole pine forest for most of the trek before coming out onto the open ridgeline for the final ascent (which is frequently quite windy). The views of the surrounds at the top are worth it, though - 180 degrees of the Kananaskis Rockies and 180 degrees of wide open foothills and plains!
