From Mesa Trail this connector works its way west, generally following the Shadow Creek drainage. The trail then finishes its short journey as it contours north, finally connecting to Shadow Canyon.
The first section of the trail, coming from Mesa Trail, is wide open singletrack. Once the trail heads southwest and then north, it is more deeply ensconced in the conifer forests that populate these canyons. Views of Devil's Thumb on this last section of trail are great.
