There and Back
Fowler Trail is a not-to-be-missed hike within the stunning Eldorado Canyon State Park. Take a solo stroll or bring the whole family to enjoy views of steep, golden rock walls and lush, sheltered greenery. The trail is just under 1 mile one way and terminates in an overlook of Eldorado Springs, where the canyon opens onto the Great Plains. The first 0.7 miles of the trail is a self-guided nature walk with interpretive signage and brochures available to explain the geology and nature of this unique gorge. There are also viewing scopes aimed at certain cliffs through which you can view rock climbers scaling the impressive walls that make this place famous. Either before or after experiencing this trail, take time to enjoy the other amenities that the state park has to offer, including a streamside path and picnic area, visitor center, and additional trails.
