Dead Man's Loop

This trail starts at the Ruins Trail and leads you to the Witch Hazel Trail, Black Oak Trail, Table Rock Trail and Cool Spirit Trail. The trail runs through the heart of the old industrial trail, this area used to contain factories and such, however the old ruins are rapidly being overtaken by the elements. If you run this trail up to the Cool Spirit Trail there are about four creek crossings which after wet weather will definitely lead to wet feet. The farther along you get on this trail, the more the scenic nature of the place and its small slot-type canyons takes over. In the summer, it's all green and hard to see ten feet off the trail, but in the winter, you can really appreciate the lay of the land. The huge trail map at the beginning of the trail on the GAP is out of date and does not show a lot of the new trails.
