Pond Loop Trail

This trail starts behind the park's general store. It is marked with plastic posts with the trail name printed on a red background. A short distance into the forest, the trail splits for the loop. If you want to only go to the lake, turn right. This will take you quickly to the southeast shore of the lake and the only section of trail that travels along the lake. If you want to enjoy a nice forest hike, turn left. From here, the trail meanders through the forest before exiting onto an old forest road. Turn right and follow the road until the trail goes over a levee that dams a pond. After this point, the trail follows the shoreline until you reach the fork from the beginning. Turn left to return to the general store and your car.
