Landscape Arch

Landscape Arch is the longest in Arches National Park, and the second longest natural arch in the world having recently been declared longer than Kolob Arch in Zion. It is 290 feet wide. This hike is a small portion of the Devils Garden hike in Arches. Devils Garden is great but the shorter, and more friendly hike is to do an out and back hike to Landscape Arch and two smaller arches along the way. The trail starts at the Devils Garden trailhead which is at the end of the park roads in the north part of Arches. There is also a large campground here but reserve your spot well in advance if you want to camp. The trail immediately starts hiking through the large fins that are common in the park. There will be a small sign soon after the beginning to two small arches that are a must do side trip. The first you will see is Tunnel Arch. Next is Pine Tree Arch. Then back to the main trail. There is a lot of classic sandstone scenery along this trail. The crowning jewel of the hike is of course Landscape Arch. This is probably the second most famous behind only Delicate Arch. It's an amazing sight to take in. If you are not doing the full Devils Garden hike then turn around after seeing the arch and enjoy the easy walk back to your car.
