Description
The way to access the road to the fire tower is to park at Woody Gap Parking Lot and hike north on GA 60 down to the gate to the forrest road. This road is not listed on most GPS maps but is a shortcut to the main forest road. From here, it is very open and clear service road with a constant incline. While the hike to the top is fairly strenuous, the views at the top are worth it. Once at the top, there is a beautiful view of the mountain ranges and a fire tower (would highly recommend not trespassing). Be careful on the way down as the rocks on the path can be loose and unsteady. Close toed shoes highly recommended.
