Description
The ascent is difficult and trekking poles and shoes with good grip are recommended. There are some small creek crossings but not big enough to get your feet wet. About 3 miles in, you can take a turn off to the right for a trail up to Livingston Peak summit. The last 0.4 miles of the trail is very difficult, gaining about 1,000 feet in elevation.
