Description
The all-season singletrack trails Snagmore and Boundary Ridge are vastly superior to the old doubletrack Iron Springs (listed as Iron Creek in Doug Eastcott's classic 1999 book, Backcountry Biking). The old trail is primarily an XC ski trail but in the summer it serves as a much shorter and less hilly alternative to the new all-season singletrack. Snagmore is a trail of two halves: the southern 2km rolls gently around the plateau above the !Elbow river; the northern half features a >10% grade, 120m climb, and 90m descent (from south to north) over a hill. At 0.5km from the northern end, the trail crosses the Iron Springs trail and parallels it to the major intersection with the Elbow trail and Boundary Ridge. A map is posted at each intersection but you can basically just pick the singletrack option each time.
