Description
This gentle route begins and ends at the Museum of American Bird Art (MABA) in Canton, Massachusetts, and follows a well-marked path through the MABA Wildlife Sanctuary. From the trailhead, take Meadow Path to reach the Main Loop. Turn right to follow the Main Loop around the sanctuary’s varied habitats, including pine-oak uplands, red maple swamps, and open meadow edges. The trail briefly parallels Pequit Brook, where footing may be damp or uneven near vernal pools and swampy sections. As the circuit nears completion, reconnect with Meadow Path to return to the trailhead. Hikers may explore inner connectors for a longer walk or continue north toward Pequitside Farm, managed by the town of Canton. Open from dawn to dusk year-round, this easy route is especially appealing for birding or a quiet walk close to town.
