This route begins at the Arden Shurebridge Trailhead and heads east, wrapping around the south end of Lake Askoti before continuing northeast. Stay left at the early junction to begin a clockwise loop that gradually ascends the wooded shoulder of Hasenclever Mountain. The trail climbs steadily, with steeper sections and occasional talus requiring careful footing as it approaches the summit. From the top, enjoy sweeping alpine views before continuing along the ridge.
The descent follows the mountain’s northeast side before reaching a junction—keep right here to head southwest. The return leg drops through mixed forest and open meadows before reconnecting with the initial trail near the lake. Snow may linger into early summer, and afternoon thunderstorms are common, especially near the summit. This route offers a rewarding mountain experience with sustained elevation gain and a scenic ridgeline traverse.
