There and Back
Starting at the Grand Portage State Park Visitor Center just before the port of entry on the US/Canadian border, there is a paved and wheelchair accessible trail that leads to a boardwalk providing spectacular viewpoints of High Falls on the Pigeon River, the highest waterfall in Minnesota standing at 120 feet.
The 9 mile Grand Portage Trail was created to bypass this waterfall. This Minnesota State Park is unique as it is located on land owned by the Grand Portage Band of Chippewa and is leased to the state for use as a state park.
