At 120 feet tall, the High Falls of the Pigeon River is the tallest waterfall in Minnesota. The waterfall is located within Grand Portage State Park, located right before the border between Minnesota and Canada. A quick turn off of Highway 61 will bring you to the parkas visitor center, where the short 0.5-mile walk to the falls begins. The trail to the falls, Falls Trail, is a paved path that has a boardwalk near the falls, making it wheelchair accessible. Along this path to the High Falls there are two stairways that lead down to additional views. The first leads you to a view of the Pigeon River, and the second will bring you to a view of the Pigeon River Gorge, which is just downstream from the High Falls. Continue to the falls overlook area, where there are multiple spots to take some photos of Minnesotaas largest waterfall.
