Path Type
Point to Point
The Fingers follows the cliff bands above the Dry Creek drainage. It is most easily accessed from the Tabeguache Trail - Dry Creek Section, via the Cushman Mesa Road. It winds downhill and then back uphill as it follows the "fingers" of Cushman Mesa, providing fun moderate singletrack and great views of the surrounding area.
The Fingers can be used in either direction, but they are best done from south to north (it has the most descending). Start off of the Tabeguache Trail at a well marked start, and descend the sometimes smooth and sometimes loose/rocky trail. There are no major intersections to deal with and the trail is well marked. About 3/4 of the way through, after climbing out of a rocky wash, there is a junction with the Cushman Mesa Road. Keep going on the Fingers, as the best trail is past this, with a quick descent and rugged climb that circles back to Cushman Mesa Rd.
