Multiple-use trail, shared with mountain bikers. Daily travel direction instructions at trailheads.
Path Type
Loop
Your legs will get a good workout on this closed loop 2.5-mile urban escape in downtown Bowling Green. The multi-use trail was designed with mountain bikers in mind, but hikers will be engaged with the singletrack for the length of the hike sporting numerous jumps and mountain bike features. Two climbs are the central feature at the north end, with smooth riverside running on the opposite end. In between are creek and drainage crossings, and winding trails that help you forget the city is just across the river.Ample parking at Weldon Peete Park make for lots of users at times, but everyone is courteous and polite. For less technical terrain, there are also 2 miles of paved GreenWays trails within the Low Hollow loop.
The Low Hollow Trail is one of many projects by the Bowling Green Riverfront Foundation and the Kentucky Mountain Bike Association in an effort to revitalize the riverfront area that has long been neglected.
