Description
Dimple Dell Regional Park is a 630 acre natural space offering an abundance of hiking, bicycling and equestrian trails. The park is located in Sandy, Utah and is long and narrow as it runs from east to west with urban neighborhoods on both sides. Despite the somewhat urban setting, the hiking is still quite enjoyable and you may even forget how close you are to the city at times! The western end of the park isn't quite as popular as the eastern side, which offers more trails. One can make an easy 2-3 mile loop starting from Lone Peak Park.Begin from the parking area, then find one of the paths that leads down into Dimple Dell. You'll then follow the wide and well maintained path that leads alongside Dry Creek. Most of year this creek will likely be dry, but during spring snowmelt it is a beautiful feature. After walking to the far western end of the park the trail loops around and heads back east. You'll cross a footbridge over the creek, then pass under 700 East, then under a pedestrian bridge.Continue for as far as you wish. The views of the Wasatch Mountains to the east are fantastic. On the way back you can utilize one of the narrower singletrack trails a bit above the main pathway if desired for a change of pace.
