Description
Starting at the Artillery Trail, you'll descend gradually along the bottom of the plain. Passing by Tennessee Ridge, you'll see mixed hardwood and pine forest and a couple of old homestead foundations. As you turn north, there are some long neglected remnants of the iron industry in the area including a few abandoned rigging foundations as well as a spring on the right. Connect with the Telegraph Trail and the visitor center by turning right, or turn left to head back to Piney Campground.
