Description
This is a mildly trafficked doubletrack trail that travels on top of a wooded hill. The trail starts at the first parking lot that you encounter on Whitemound Drive traveling north. You'll see a sign for the Kiln Trail. The trail starts as a singletrack and begins climbing. It is joined briefly with a horse trail, which is marked by yellow blazes. The trail widens to a doubletrack and goes up a steep slope with some loose rock-watch your feet! Once past this part, you are basically on top of the hill and the trail flattens. You'll come to a point where the trail forks--this is the loop. You may see the lake between the trees but unfortunately there is no point on the trail where the lake is in clear view.
