Description
This 2.5-mile loop begins near the equestrian barns on Scenic Loop Rd. To begin, follow the wide doubletrack trail along the ridge line. The trail will be mostly gravel in the beginning, but transitions to an earthen pathway after the first 1/2 mile. There are a few steep portions along the way, and youll be traversing some rocky terrain. Keep an eye out, as this trail sees heavy equestrian use. Always be courteous to those on horseback. Deer Run will parallel the Six Flags Road, and part of the Scenic Loop Road, so youll never be too far from civilization. Overlapping with portions of the DeClue Trail and the Green Rock Trail, this loop can also be used to connect with the Dogwood Trail and the Eagle Valley Trail.
