This is a shot showing my favorite spot on the Blevins Trail - it's colorful in spring and has a good view of Pass Mountain.

A confusing transition. Look for this sign to the southeast of the permanent toilets and continue on.

Description
This is an example of the flexibility of this trail system. The signage is very good: just about every intersection has signs to indicate the trails that meet and branch at that location. The Blevins and Cat Peaks trails are the most trafficked trails in this set, and even those are not anywhere near as crowded as the nearby Wind Cave Trail. Even if that parking area is completely full, the Blevins Trail parking area is typically not full. It is worth dealing with a few of the other visitors on those two more populated trails in order to get to the other trails, which tend to be very lightly used, and then only by horses and mountain bikers. During my latest visit, I only encountered two people, and I rarely see more than 4-5 on the County Line-Ruidoso-Spillway section. The trails are mostly flat with some up-down as you cross washes, but these have been groomed over the past two years and are not nearly as rocky as they once were. Even the day following massive rain, there are usually only a few large puddles, and these can be easily avoided if you want.
