If you've seen the rest of Anza-Borrgeo, plowed through Robin Halford's three volume Anza-Borrego hiking series, and can't sleep until you've checked off all the proms in a quad, you'll need to catch Prom 2300 and this is a good way to do it. This is a strike across the desert sort of hike. Follow a wash for 2.6 miles, ascend to the 2,300 feet prom, have a snack, and work you way down a ridge back to the scattered Canebreak housing, suitable for people who find Borrego Springs to be too crowded.
