Ryman Creek Trail was recently rerouted and worked on and it turned out great! It is a multi-direction, multi-use (no motos but will see horseback) backcountry trail between Rico and Dolores.
As a descent, this trail is smooth for the most part and easygoing. It traverses some hillsides and can be a tad uneasy for folks with worries about edges but overall is bench-cut in sections and not a worry. It holds a fairly good grade and would keep you moving, not too fast, not too slow. It does however have a few short climbs at the bottom.
As a climbing trail, it is awesome to have around for access to other trails such as Salt Creek Trail #733 nearby. The climb is challenging yet easy. Nothing is too technical going up climbing but it does hold a grade just steep enough to be a tad more taxing. It does a great job on its route and provides beautiful views along the way. I would highly suggest it for backcountry access in the area rather than the fire roads.
