Description
Starting at the Ocoee White water center, cross the bridge and turn left onto Bear Paw Loop for approximately 1.4 miles (keep left at the loop split). Keep straight onto Chestnut Mountain Loop for approximately 0.9 miles and turn left onto River View Loop for 3.3 miles. Turn left onto Chestnut Mountain Loop for approximately 1.2 miles. This is a good spot for an aid station at 6.8 miles into the route.Continue on Chestnut Mountain Loop for 1.2 miles, passing West Fork Trail and turn left onto Thunder Rock Express for 1.5 miles. Turn left onto FS 45 and then turn right onto FS 221, about 3.5 miles total till you get to the Big Frog Trail #64 trailhead. This is a good spot for an aid station at 6.2 miles. The next section is the crux of the route and about 11.2 miles to your next aid station. Take Big Frog Trail #64 to the top of the mountain for 5.5 miles. Turn left onto Hemptop for about 0.5 miles. Turn left onto Licklog Ridge going back down the mountain for 5.4 miles, ending at FS 221. This is a good spot for an aid station at 11.2 miles. Turn left onto FS 221 for approximately 2.7 miles back to Chestnut Mountain Loop. Turn left onto Chestnut Mountain Loop for approximately 0.3 miles and turn left onto West Fork Trail for 1.3 miles. Turn right onto FS 45 for approximately 1 mile. At the power station, turn right onto Rhododendron Trail which will bring you back to the Ocoee Whitewater Center for the finish.
