Description
Head down from parking lot, and you'll descend the steepest part of the trail when your legs are fresh. In the first three miles, you'll pass the Upper and Lower Doyles Falls. The route levels out and is very pleasant, with plenty of spots to fill up on water. Turn at the intersection with the Jones Run Trail and you'll ascend steadily past another falls and through woods with bear traces, birds, and flowers. At the Jones Run parking area, you'll turn right onto the AT and follow it for about four miles. If you want more up and down, you can turn onto the Big Run Loop Trail trail 0.6 miles after the Dundo picnic area to add another 4+- miles.
