Description
Lambs Knoll is a 1-mile hike near Zion National Park in southern Utah. While this area is known for its rock climbing, it also makes for a pretty, scenic hike. The trail is easy to follow and leads to the base of Lambs Knoll, the area where all the rock climbers will be found. It offers scenic views of red-rock canyons, green valleys, and distant mountain peaks that are typical of the Utah landscape.The route is mostly flat, though it does have some short steep sections. The terrain is mostly sand with some rocks. There are spots along the trail where you can veer off and explore other areas, including some narrow slot canyons. CAMPINGCampsites are available at Lambs Knoll, close to the parking area, on a first-come, first-served basis. A bathroom is located in the area, and the campsites are relatively secluded, allowing guests to enjoy solitude and privacy. There is no charge for camping at Lamb's Knoll. WHEN TO VISITIt is accessible all year round, but spring, summer, and fall are the best times to visit. Winter may bring snow and ice. LOCATIONLambs Knoll climbing and camping area is located off of Kolob Reservoir Road (about 30 minutes from the entrance of Zion National Park). SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONSLambs Knoll is best known for its climbing and repelling opportunities. You can contact a local guiding company to help you go canyoneering if you are interested in exploring further. Lambs Knoll is a nice picnic area or break spot on your way in or out of Zion National Park. The Lambs Knoll area has spectacular sunrises and sunsets.
