Description
The Overlander Falls Trail is a scenic hike through the dense pine forests of Mount Robson Provincial Park, following the upper Fraser River to a powerful waterfall. Starting near the park's visitor center, cross the highway and follow Hargreaves Road past the entrance to Robinson Meadows Campground to a trailhead located on the east side of the road, just before the Fraser River bridge. As the path winds through the woods, it parallels the river, providing continuous sounds and views of the rushing water through the trees. The trail features a gentle grade with an elevation gain of approximately 300 feet over its 1.4-mile length. The hike culminates at the Overlander Falls viewpoint, where visitors can admire the wide waterfall spilling into the canyon. The falls are named after the "Overlanders of 1862," a group of emigrants who traveled overland from Ontario to the goldfields of British Columbia, passing through this rugged area during their historic journey.
