Completed 4.3 miles from trailhead to summit on 7/20/19. Perfect weather. The route was aerobically challenging (I had flown in the day before from my sea level home) and it was a steady climb almost the whole way up. It is an easy to follow trail until you arrive at base of summit above tree line at about 4 miles.
The last portion of the hike is over large talus rocks with difficult footing and many opportunities to twist an ankle or scrape your leg. Totally doable, but proceed carefully as you traverse to the west below the false summit on your way to the real summit. Piled cairns mark numerous routes through the rocks, but there is no obvious route, with foot placement puzzles confronting you every step.
A better way up may be the way that I came down, that is proceeding west below the worst of the talus slope and then ascending up a a sometimes dirt path in a draw between the false summit and the real summit. Views from the summit are fantastic.
