Description
To get to the start of this trail, you must cross the Archey Fork of the Little Red River. The water can be swift at times and should only be crossed at low flow. After hiking across the river, the trail picks up on an old dirt road at the top of the river bank. Follow this past the first field to a fork. Take the right fork, another old road bed that starts up the hill. As you wind up this road, you'll pass old homesteads with wells and root cellars still visible. Nearing the top, you'll start to see the back side of Razorback Ridge through the trees to your right. Continue along the trail as it narrows down through the trees, still following an old road bed. After a short steep section, the trail breaks away from the road bed and crosses a small drainage, this is where the singletrack portion starts. Follow this trail just below the backside of the ridge line to where it ends at the Keyhole Notch. From here there are multiple areas to scramble up on top of the bluffs for beautiful views, or you can use the Keyhole Notch to access below the bluffs for more exploration! The hike is 2 miles round trip.
