Schabarum-Skyline Trail - Section I

This trail can be done either direction. The best way is to start on Grand Ave and to hike north. It also can be connected with other segments of the Schabarum Skyline Trail to make a longer point to point hike. From Grand Ave, hike up the hill. As soon as you pass Hillside on the right, cross the street when clear and head up the steep singletrack. Lookout for poison oak, there are a few spots where it grows near this trailhead. Continue up the hill, and eventually the trail will join with a fireroad that goes a little bit further up hill. When you get to the top, hang a left (north) on the fireroad that turns to singletrack after a short uphill and then head down the singletrack. Toward the bottom the trail spits you out on a street in a neighborhood. Continue downhill for a couple of hundred yards, then look for the trail to start again on the right.
