Cahuenga Peak via Burbank Trail

The Burbank Peak Trail to Cahuenga Peak is a 2.2-mile out-and-back hike near Los Angeles, California. There are several ways to get to Cahuenga Peak, including the Burbank Peak Trail, which is located off of Wonder View Drive. It is a short, but steep climb that is popular with locals and tourists alike. The hike offers scenic views, cultural attractions, and a good workout within a relatively short distance. Cahuenga Peak (1,820') is the 12th highest named peak in the Santa Monica Mountains and is located on the west side of Griffith Park. The trail to the peak travels steeply over rocky terrain and across exposed hillsides lined with California chaparral such as shrubs and toyon. The hike features scenic views of the Hollywood Reservoir, the famous Hollywood Sign, and the Wisdom Tree, the only tree left standing on top of Burbank Peak after a devastating fire in 2007. DIRECTIONSWalk up Wonder View Drive and ascend the Burbank Peak Trail. Once you reach the top of the climb, make a right onto Aileen Getty Ridge Trail / Wonder View Trail and continue for about half a mile to reach Cahuenga Peak. Return to the starting point by retracing your steps from Cahuenga Peak.WATERThe trail is dry and exposed.
