Loop
Beginning from the end of Lake Hollywood Dr., the hike begins with the Lake Hollywood Trail as it heads south along the reservoir on a tree-covered, paved service road. After hiking for a little over 1 mile you'll cross over the reservoir's south side on the Mulholland Dam. From here you'll also be able to see the Hollywood Sign sitting on the hillside high above and you'll have views of downtown L.A. in the other direction.Continue along the Lake Hollywood Trail as it winds around the east side of the reservoir. If the road undergoing repairs is passable you can follow the trail all the way to the reservoir gate on Tahoe Drive. At this point the Lake Hollywood Trail comes to an end and you can turn left here to follow Montlake Dr. to the west for 7/10 of a mile to complete the loop and reach the original trailhead. Thanks to John McKinney, The Trailmaster, for sharing this trail description.
