Description
Starting from the parking lot at Black Mountain Ski Area, the trail crosses over a bridge, then turns left. It follows the road, then turns right (following Lower Sunday). It follows some of Upper Sunday, before turning right onto a singletrack. The trail ascends steeply (through woods and open fields). It passes a small view spur (on the right), and continues to ascend. The trail climbs up to Black Mountain East Summit and then to the tower. This part of the trail may be closed, when they're conducting maintenance. After crossing the access road, the trail descends through a Birch and Fern forest. It continues through the col between Black Mountain and Whitecap Mountain, then climbs up to the end of Iles Trail. Here, the trail takes a sharp left and travels just below the ridge of Whitecap Mountain. The trail climbs up to the corner of Iles Trail, where it ends.
