Description
Starting at the Walpack Ridge Trail Parking Area, head south along what used to be an old roadway. Travel along the doubletrack through mixed hardwood forests flush with white oak, red maple, and shagbark hickory. After about three-quarters of a mile, enjoy beautiful views of a nearby pond and the surrounding rustic landscape. Passing the pond, the trail continues to contour the ridgetop, eventually reaching a T-intersection with the Military Road Trail. Head southeast (left) along the Military Road Trail for nearly half a mile before veering left back onto the Walpack Ridge Trail. Continue along through airy mixed hardwoods and rolling terrain, eventually gaining the ridge summit before descending through a trickling creek. Enjoy the flora overhang that borders a hidden swamp before climbing out of the ravine toward the end of the trail and the parking lot.
