Description
The start of the VHHT is unassuming. A small sign on the New River Trail is the start of this 67-mile trail that ends in the Mount Rodgers Recreation area. The trail starts roughly with some rocky, flooded-out areas and creek crossings. The trail then starts to climb steeply out of the creek drainage for about 0.5 miles. Once at the top, it's a fairly smooth up and down until about the three-mile mark. The singletrack will end at a gated forest road. Continue to follow this doubletrack until you reach the paved Rt. 94.
