Description
Entrance from the visitors center parking lot near the information board is via a short, steep set of stairs that leads to a bridge crossing and immediately back uphill. This is about the most elevation change that you'll have on the trail. Lots of rooty sections and a couple of muddy patches that are easy to avoid. There's a generous distribution of benches. The loop can be extended by taking the Eagle Spur Trail out to the bird blind and back or connecting with the Wilson Spring Trail, which will lead you to the rest of the park's trail network. Generally well-marked with blue blazes, although they're practically unnecessary as the trail is extremely clear.
