Description
From the Bridger Gondola at the resort's base, look for the Wildflower Trail sign and follow the trail as it crosses under the gondola. The Wildflower Trail begins to switchback, crossing between ski runs and patches of trees. The trail quickly breaks from adjacent downhill biking trails providing a bit more solitude. The grade is relatively sustained the entire time, with only a few breaks to sit down and rest. A nice long break with restrooms and food for purchase can be had at the top of the Bridger Gondola. From here, the alpine terrain begins. Find the Cirque Trail behind the lodge. The trail skirts the side of the headwall, the steep slope behind the lodge, before reaching the base of the upper cirque. Here the north face of Rendezvous Mountain looms above, exhibiting famous ski lines which sneak through couloirs in the face -- such as Corbet's and S&S. The trail navigates around the north face and into Rendezvous Bowl, switch-backing just off the mountain's east ridgeline to the summit. Make sure you check the tram schedule and plan accordingly. It is a long hike down if you miss last tram.
