This trail heads downhill from the Valley View Picnic Area parking lot and includes a couple sets of steps to an overlook spur to Lake Ramona. Then it continues along the stream before climbing up to the Chestnut Trail and continuing across to the Tulip Tree Trail. There is also a spur trail from the Ironwood Picnic area.
