Path Type
Loop
This trail begins at the terminus of the Cross Timbers Orange Trail. As this is a loop, you have the option to go in either direction. There is a monument sign with a map and local history posted at the start of this trail to ensure you don't overextend your hike on accident.
This trail is a modified doubletrack as it can narrow at times into some singletrack. Since this trail exists in the farthest north section of the park, it does see less traffic so trails aren't as worn as in other spots. This trail travels through both small growth forests and open fields dotted with small shrubs.
A portion of the trail parallels a ranch road, and other fire roads exit off the trail so pay attention to the maroon sign posts to stay on course. Overall, a nice hike and a great way to create a longer day hike.
