Coyote Ridge to FO06 Gate

The trail from the Coyote Ridge Trail to the FO06 Gate runs along a ridge above Stevens Creek Park and offers views of the South Bay. To access the trail, you either need to climb the Coyote Ridge Trail from Stevens Creek County Park or hike out the Coyote Ridge Trail from Fremont Older Open Space Preserve. The trail is a wide dirt trail that drops quickly from the Coyote Ridge Trail and then rolls for roughly half a mile until you reach the boundary of Fremont Older Open Space Preserve. Views of the mountains above the Stevens Creek Reservoir can be seen on the left side of the trail, and views of the South Bay can be enjoyed on the right side of the trail. In the evenings, you might see a bobcat, deer, or turkeys crossing the trail. Mountain bikers sometimes use the trail as well, so be on the lookout for riders. The trail ends at the boundary of the preserve, so unless you know are a resident or know the landowners, you need to turn around and return the to Coyote Ridge Trail. Its a nice way to get a little extra mileage on your hike, especially in the evening.
