Lodi Lake Nature Loop

Lying along a section of bends in the Mokelumne River is a largely calm section called Lodi Lake. The 1.3 mile Lodi Lake Nature Loop Trail follows a section of this lake, winding calmly beneath a canopy of oak trees along the way.Set inside Lodi Lake Park, the trail is a flat, easy path that sees a good amount of visitors owing to the scenic route, along with a few nice surprises along the way. Upon entering the trailhead, a small stand of Coast Redwood trees tower above the trail. A small interpretive sign lists the trees and plants along a series of numbered markers on the trail. Those numbers are posted sequentially if walking the trail in a counter clockwise direction.Scenic tree branches arc over the trail, and the path weaves between a natural area and the adjacent neighborhood. The dirt path remains wide and flat, making this trail fine for families and those of nearly all ability levels. Deer may be seen feeding along some areas of the path. As the trail winds around it reaches the banks of the Mokelumne River. Wading and swimming is not permitted in the river, however there are a few scenic areas to look over the waterway. The trail eventually loops around and returns toward the trailhead.Covered benches and bathrooms are available in Lodi Lake Park.The trail is open daily from sunrise to sunset. There is a parking fee at the park of $5 per vehicle. Dogs are not permitted along the nature trail.
