Description
Crescenta View Trail is a 6.7-mile out-and-back, singletrack trail that ascends the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. The trailhead is located in Deukmejian Wilderness Park near Glendale, California. It passes through a rugged, mountainous terrain consisting mainly of chaparral, manzanita, yucca, and sage scrub. Mostly exposed, it provides scenic views of Crescenta Valley, Los Angeles Basin, and San Gabriel Mountains. It is accessible year-round and suitable for running, hiking, backpacking, and mountain biking. Starting from Deukmejian Wilderness Park, the Crescenta View Trail crosses Dunsmore Creek and ascends a series of switchbacks along Mount Lukens' southwest ridge. It climbs for 3.3 miles before reaching Mount Lukens Road, which connects to the top of Mount Lukens (5.074') to the north and Highway 2 to the south.
