An excellent romp that connects to a good number of trails by many hikers of the Cottonwood area.

Description
I recommend parking at McGhies Bike Outpost and hiking to the trailhead through the quiet, shady streets of Blue Diamond. The trail starts with a couple swooping drainages, then a heart pumping climb that offers a great warm-up for the day. After rolling through the surrounding hills it then ends coming back into the town of Blue Diamond from the north. I often meet folks out hiking here that are looking for "THE" way on the map they downloaded or purchased. None of the trails are marked with signs and maps can be hard to pinpoint exact trail locations... The best advice is to use your map as a general guide - getting to know these trails takes a little time. As with all the trails in this area, this one is seldom traveled from start to finish by itself. Hikers will typically connect any combination of trails on any given day to patch together their hike. I seldom travel the Landmine Loop as shown here as I prefer to add more mileage and make a larger loop by combining the South Cut or Inner Loop and other trails. You just need to get out and hike for yourself and find YOUR favorite configuration of trails.
