Plan with
Confidence
This trail that branches off the Slide Canyon Trail #062 is not officially recognized or maintained by the US Forest Service.
Path Type
There and Back
Once you get past the "Y", the remaining ~2+ miles to the peak are only lightly trafficked. The trail is no longer maintained past the "Y" and is narrow. The trail eventually splits before the final mile to the peak, and you'll want to be sure to go left. There are no water sources along the way, so pack enough water for the full journey.
Some Issues
Aside from the high altitude gain in a short distance the hike was nice. In May the trail is clear but half the hike seemed to be bush whacking. There were rattlesnakes and mountain lions so do be cautious on where you step and how much attention you are paying to noises around you. Other than this amazing hike and amazing views
Some Issues
Hiked the trail starting in the afternoon and it was hot with little cover till slide canyon. Onc
