Description
This scenic paved trail begins in beautiful Golden, Colorado and follows Clear Creek Canyon and beyond. The Peaks to Plains Trail will be a 65-mile trail that will one day connect the town of Golden to the headwaters of Clear Creek up at Loveland Pass. Once completed, it will connect multiple counties and seven cities, with a total elevation gain of more than one mile. This project will take many years to complete. This easternmost section of the Peak to Plains Trail (AKA P2P) is located in Clear Creek County Park which is part of Jefferson County Open Space. This JCOS park is now the Crown Jewel of their system, the parking areas, restrooms and trails were completed in late summer of 2021 with no expense or attention to detail spared.
